Student Prepared School Lunches at Winchester High School

WHS Culinary Class 2017

The students in the Family Consumer Science Culinary class at Winchester High School worked with the Whitsons team to create a Special School Lunch menu on November 16, 2017!

The students cooked, prepared and served the school lunch meals under the direction of our own Chef Rich and Culinary Teacher, Mary Pace. The Entree's prepared where; Fresh Roasted Pulled Pork tossed in a Special Seaoned BBQ Suace served on a WW Bun with Fresh Roasted Red Bliss Potato, Fresh Roasted Carrots-Bok Choy-Celery & Onions, Fresh Homemade Cheesecake Brownies.  An Action Station Tossed Salad, Fresh Romaine Lettuce-Arugula-Diced Carrots-Dried Cranberries-Feta Cheese with choice of dressing & a WW Dinner Roll. The Panini of the Day; Freshly Grilled Chicken Breast topped with Carmelized Onions-Provolone Cheese & the Special BBQ Sauce . The Pizza special that the students prepared was a Bianco Pizza; WG Pizza dough brushed with Garlic & Oil topped with Fresh Basil - Mozzarella & Ricotta Baked until Golden.

This was a very eventful day for the students, they got to see first hand how foodservice works on a daily basis, not only did the students get to prep and cook the foods we served they also got to see what else goes with the fun part of cooking, each student help serve the food at all the serving lines to our cliental and they had the fun task of cleaning and washing dishes as well. They had an opportunity to see how everything happens from beginning to end.
