Events

February is here and it’s American Heart Month. American Heart Month serves as a reminder for all to commit to a healthy lifestyle for a lifetime of good heart health. We at Whitsons are focused on food and nutrition and always encourage our students to make healthy eating choices. We have a lot of delicious and heart healthy menus and events planned for this month, and as always, we are excited to serve our students.

In our Elementary schools, students will enjoy Safari Day with Grant’s Love of Smart and Delicious Snacks and will celebrate the spirit of Valentine’s day with our healthy red food lunch menu!

In our Secondary schools, students will enjoy a Smart Choices day that focuses on foods for Mental Wellbeing and end the month with a delicious Mardi Gras inspired menu that students are sure to love.

Want to get more information about nutrition? Just ask a Whitsons Registered Dietitian. Whitsons’ team of Registered Dietitians will be available to answer all nutrition related questions from parents, students, faculty, staff and more in the “Ask the RD” forum!

Timberlane High School Introduces Sushi to their Menu

Whitsons Culinary Group is pleased to announce that on Wednesday, October 20th, Timberlane High School in New Hampshire will be offering sushi for the first time on their lunch menu.

The first sushi event at the school will be headed by Whitsons Culinary Groups’ Chef Ryan Hurley. Chef Hurley will be training his team, and together, they will prepare a few varieties of cooked, non-raw sushi dishes such as, California rolls, Vegetable rolls, Avocado and Cream cheese rolls, and Shrimp Rolls with Spicy Sriracha sauce. Over 100 portions of sushi are expected to be served. The success of the event may lead to prepared sushi meals being offered to students of Timberlane High School on an ongoing basis.
