Meet Chef Sean Arnold!

Whitsons is proud to introduce our newest member to the York Suburban School District team, Chef Sean Arnold. Chef Sean is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and Green Mountain College with a Master of Science in Sustainable Food Systems, he is a forward-thinking and multi-talented food service leader with more than 15 years of experience driving teams to success while promoting sustainable and environmentally-conscious initiatives.

Chef Sean first began his culinary journey while still a student at Elon University.  Once graduated, he continued his career at York College as Associate Director of Dining Services. Since then, Sean has built upon his years of experience creating flavorful food master pieces while also serving as Director of Dining Services for several schools such as, Oldfields School for Flik Independent Schools, Towson University, Garrison Forest School and Calvert Hall College High School for Sage Dining Services.

Chef Sean is not only passionate about food, but he is also focused on educating others on the importance and use of local sustainable food in menus, a philosophy Whitsons whole-heartedly supports. “I will continue to build relationships with local farmers and incorporate locals foods into our school menus,” said Sean. “Developing school menus that are healthy, nutritious, and delicious for kids from K-12 grades is a challenge, but it is one that I will be taking head-on. I am happy to join the Whitsons team and with the help and support of Helen Heidler, FSD at York, the York Suburban School District and school administration, I will ensure the success in the development and enhancement of their monthly menus and develop child-friendly presentations on food, health and nutrition.”

Whitsons School Nutrition program at York Suburban School District always looks to create excitement for students when their Chef is in the kitchen.  Chef Sean will be adding his expertise in creating flavorful and nutritious, health-focused inspiration to our menus for students and staff this school year and we at Whitsons just can’t wait!

Welcome to Whitsons Culinary Group and York Suburban school district Chef Sean!
